Karen Sue Scott, 74, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Portsmouth. She was born September 20, 1946, in Pontiac, IL, a daughter of the late and James W. and Patricia J. Clendenen Quinn.
Karen was retired from Bank One in Columbus where she worked in the accounting department and she was a 1946 graduate of Chenoa (IL) High School. A gifted poet and cat lover, she had fostered for Sierra’s Haven and the Scioto County Humane Society.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandra L. (Mark Letsche) Doherty of Portsmouth and Michelle J. Hoskins-Cobb of Columbus; two sisters, Mickey (Mike) Horwitz of Scottsdale, AZ and Peggy Bonogofsky of South Beloit, IL; a special sister, Isabelle Hansing of Portsmouth; two granddaughters, Vera Lynn and Sophia Grace Doherty; a special family friend, Vernon Risner of Wheelersburg; and her beloved cat, Boots.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Johnathan Hoskins and an infant son.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Loren Hardin officiating and interment in Rush Township Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour Friday.
