Karen Sue McNally-Jarrell, age 73, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on April 19, 1952, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie Pinson Turner.
Karen dedicated her career as an Early Child Intervention Specialist with the Carousel Center and was a devoted member of the Turkey Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joie Patrick, and her sister, Virginia LeMonne West.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gregory Jarrell; her three daughters, Jerri (Alan) DeMenter, Jamie (Keith) Matthews, and Emily Hess; two brothers, Robert Turner and Richard (Pat) Turner; eleven grandchildren—Victoria, Jessica, Nick, Christopher, Michael, Tre, Tyler, Shealynn, Levi, Trever, and Brooklynn; ten great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Karen’s life will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville, with Bud Patrick and David Sibole officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on the day of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Karen’s warmth, dedication, and love for her family and community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
