Kathleen Joyce Dettwiller, 75, of McDermott, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth. She was born on January 28, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio daughter of the late Roy Lee Rachford Jr. and Juliann Garren Rachford.
On January 8, 1972 she was united in marriage to Roger Dettwiller who survives. Also surviving are her children, Tammy (David) Euton of McDermott, Gail Dettwiller Hall (Jacob Powell) of Otway, Jeff Dettwiller (Leigh Ann Henry) of South Shore, Kentucky and Teddy (Missy) Dettwiller of Lucasville; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Stella (Bill) Seaman of Otway, Rusty (Ann) Rachford of Otway, Rosie (Keith) Stephenson of Otway, Donnie (Jannette) Rachford of Lucasville, Jeanie (Terry) Morris of Otway and Steve (Patty) Rachford of Otway. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Sue Smith; an infant brother, Claude; and her father and mother in-law, Paul and Elizabeth Dettwiller.
Joyce was an aide for Northwest Local School District for many years and she later worked at Good Shepherd Manor before retiring to become a full time mamaw. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway.
