Officers took an underage burglar into custody after a caller reported a break-in at their home on Township Road 170. The resident said someone kicked in their front door and stole a Nintendo Switch and DS, multiple video games, cash, and other items from his home.
Officers said the burglar had trashed the house, leaving games, clothes, and other items all over the house. They noticed a BB Gun and a black cell phone on the kitchen counter. The homeowner said the phone wasn’t his and he’d never seen it before,
At the same time, another officer had detained two runaways just up the road from the theft. A deputy asked that officer to check if they had lost a phone or had a Nintendo Switch on them.
Officers said the girl had a Nintendo DS along with other items missing from the house on her. She implicated another child and officers headed to his house to speak to his mom. She said he had a backpack on him that contained the missing Nintendo Switch, gift cards, cash, candy, and other items in it.
Officers busted both kids on burglary charges.
