Kids Defend Mom From Pit Bull Attack
A woman contacted officers just before 8 pm to report that she was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull. She said her oldest children were able to kick the dog off her before it could bite, and she had only suffered some bruising.
The Dog Warden responded to the scene and issued two citations to the owner of the dog.
Dog Held Hostage in Franklin Furnace
Officers responded to a report of a dog held hostage in Franklin Furnace just before 10:30 am. The caller said they did not have tags, vet records, or any proof of ownership but said they had lived at the home where the dog was held.
Officers advised him it was a civil issue but offered to speak to the other party. After speaking to a deputy, the person with the dog agreed to meet an officer at the First Stop to turn over the animal.
Just after noon, deputies returned the dog to its owner.
Strange Man Creeps Out Dollar General Employees
A man exhibiting some strange behavior creeped out employees of the Dollar General in Minford.
The mother of one of the employees alerted deputies that a strange man came into the store and asked a female employee a lot of personal questions and inquired as to what time she got off work before saying he would see her later.
The man came back into the store twice, acting oddly. An officer said they would patrol the area and try to be there at closing time if there were no other calls. The District Manager decided to come to the store at closing and make sure the employee got safely to their car.
