In what’s becoming an all-too-common occurrence on local police logs, officers responded to two reports of kids talking about suicide within half an hour of each other.
The first report involved a girl who made suicide threats when her mom tried to discipline her. The young lady took off in her pajamas in the cold and left the house to walk down a country road in the dark.
A deputy located the child within 10 minutes and took her home. Officers called for a squad to take the girl for treatment.
Twenty minutes later, a young boy texted suicide threats to family members. He said he was a bridge, so officers checked the areas where he might be.
When neither family nor law enforcement could locate the boy, he was entered into the missing kids database. Fortunately, the child was located just after 10 pm and returned to the family.
