Kim Elaine Harris, 63, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home. She was born on November 18, 1959, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Milo Junior and Elizabeth Irene Riggs Mullens.
For 25 years, Kim worked with adults with multiple disabilities in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina. She graduated from Valley High School in 1979 and from Paramount Beauty Academy in Portsmouth. She had many interests, including cross stitch and playing Blingo, but her passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She attended all their sporting and school activities and lit up when her grandchildren entered the room or had the congregation of St. John Lutheran Church laughing after the Children’s Sermon.
Kim is survived by her two daughters, Bethany Renee Clifton (Marc) Thackston, with whom she made her home, and Lacy Nicole (Terry II) Stevenson of Wheelersburg; a stepson, Jesston (Deseray) Harris of Sciotoville; two siblings, Terry (Jacki) Mullens of Chillicothe and Cheryl (Frank) Roberts of Beaver; seven grandchildren, Olyvia and Grant Stevenson, Kaylee, Kymber, Kwynn and Kasyn Thackston, and Kloey Summers; and a sister-in-law, Kelli Mullens of Wheelersburg.
In addition to her parents, Kim was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Mullens, and her twin Tim Mullens.
Funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Norman Staker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 P.M. until the funeral hour on Monday.
