Kimberly Kay Tilley, 61, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at SOMC Hospice Inpatient Center in Portsmouth. Kim was born September 1, 1960, in Portsmouth, daughter of Paul and Inez Ruark.
Kim was a graduate of the Ohio State University school of education and a 1978 graduate of New Boston High School. She taught in Madison School District in Mansfield, Ohio until she married Bernie in 1994. After relocating to Southern Ohio, she worked as a substitute teacher throughout Scioto County.
Kim was a beautiful woman with a loving and caring soul, she was special to everyone who met her. Kim loved being a pastor’s wife. She served with Bernie at Haverhill United Methodist, Adams Memorial Community Church, and Salem Road Community Church. She loved to worship, testify, sing and praise God. She was known as the church prayer warrior.
Kim is survived by her mother, Inez Ruark of Wheelersburg; husband, Bernard Tilley of Wheelersburg; daughters, Mary Tilley of Wheelersburg and Kaylee (Anthony) of Franklin Furnace; son, Jerod (Niki) of Wheelersburg; nephew, Josh Sommer, of Atlanta GA; niece, Danielle Sommer of Atlanta, GA; cousins, Tammy, Fred, Michael, and Amy Nelson; special friend, Joyce Wagner of Bucyrus, OH; eleven grandchildren, Braydan, Josh, Kiara, Eli, Austin, Jocelyn, Isaih, Teigan, Jaidyn, Koltan and Luke and a great-grandson, Luca. Kim is preceded in death by her father, Paul Ruark, sister, Paula Sommer, and sons, Josh and Kyle Tilley.
Services for Kim will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 25, 2022, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Dennis Evans officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022, and one hour before the service on Friday. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
