A situation involving a woman with a knife quickly spun out of control on 3rd Street. It started at 2:20 p.m. when a witness reported a heavy-set woman with blonde hair damaging vehicles with a knife on 3rd Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, the woman went into a home and barricaded herself inside. Officers forced entry into the home, but the woman resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.
Police determined she was having a mental health crisis and arranged to have her involuntarily committed for treatment. An officer accompanied the woman in an ambulance to SOMC for treatment.
