At 8:41 pm an alarming call came into the Portsmouth, OH 911 Call Center. The initial caller reported an unconscious woman thrown from a car in the 1600 block of Mabert Rd. Police reports point out that the caller was distressed.
Fire and medical personnel, as well as four police officers, responded to the incident. Mabert Road was blocked by emergency vehicles anticipating the worst.
On the scene, a male subject was immediately detained and questioned.
Things began to turn absurd from there. According to the officers’ reports, none of the stories matched. After nearly 30 minutes of trying to get a clear understanding, the report states the call was “completely unfounded. We had no victim or suspect”.
In the end, they only knew 2 facts. First, the female had overdosed prior to their arrival but refused medical treatment. Second, the male had an outstanding warrant in Hocking County but that police department didn’t want to come and pick him up.
Alas, all emergency responders cleared the call, and the duo was left to continue living their best lives.
