It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Russell Farquer Jr., who departed this life on August 1, 2025, at the age of 57. Lawrence, a beloved son, devoted father, and cherished friend, was born on February 17, 1968, in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he spent his life embracing the beauty of nature and the warmth of family.
Lawrence is survived by his loving son, Andrew Farquer, who will carry forward his father’s legacy of kindness and adventure. Known for his passion for the outdoors, Lawrence found joy in spending time by the water, where he was an avid fisherman, often seen with a rod in hand and a smile on his face. He was also a spirited pool player, enjoying friendly competitions and laughter with those around him, always raising a glass of JB to celebrate life’s simple pleasures.
Those who knew Lawrence will remember him not just for his love of the great outdoors, but for the deep affection he showed to his family and friends. He had an infectious spirit that brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Russell and Bessie (nee Campbell) Farquer, Sr. He leaves behind his beloved sons: Andrew (Sarah Bishop) Farquer of Portsmouth and Damieon (Wendy Watkins) Farquer of Amelia, three grandchildren: Jayden, Miah and Arya; one brother Joey Farquer of Fairfield; and two nieces: Brittany and Lily Farquer.
