Lois Jean Porter Bentley, 91, of South Shore, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on February 9th, 2025, at South Shore Nursing Home. Born on August 14th, 1933, in McDermott, Ohio, she lived a life filled with faith, love, and devotion to her family.
Lois found joy in spending time with her loved ones and serving the Lord with her husband of 64 years, Joseph Bentley Jr. (Joe). Lois was a member of the First Church of God in South Shore, Kentucky. Lois was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, honesty, and humor had a knack for making you feel right at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bentley; her parents, Fannie and Cecil Porter; one brother, Edward Porter; and two sisters, Louella Mitchell and Lovella Litz.
She is survived by her daughters Teresa (Larry) Dickerson and Kathi (Scott) Howard, both South Shore, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Joey (Andrea) Howard, Chad (Kala) Howard, Rick Dickerson, and Kati (Rob) Collins; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Howard, Joey Howard, Brady Howard, Gracie Howard, Colton Howard, Levi Howard, and Elliana Collins; and Two great-great-grandchildren, Maelynn and Jonah Howard.
Lois had a passion for Skip-Bo, yearly vacations to the Smoky Mountains with her family, and Saturday shopping with her girls. She will be remembered for her fun and feisty personality. Her faith was her foundation, and her love was her legacy. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at First Church of God 187 Main Street South Shore, KY 41175 with Pastor Donny McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, KY. Visitation for Family and friends will be at the church Tuesday from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
