Lowell Edward Knapp, 73, of Pedro passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at SOMC in Portsmouth. Lowell was born August 25, 1951 in Portsmouth to the late Marvin John Knapp and Margaret Elizabeth Martin Knapp.
Lowell was employed by US Enrichment in Security. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church serving as a Deacon. Lowell was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force and served as a member of the Vietnam Police Association and he was a member of American Legion Post VFW 15036.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin “Junior” Knapp and two sisters, Carolee Armstrong and Alice Clark. Lowell is survived by his wife Melody Hosey Knapp, whom he married August 6, 1993 in Powellsville; a son, Dustin (Jessica) Knapp; three daughters, Heather (Chris) Welch, Melissa (Sean) Frazee and Jessi (Ron) Miller; four brothers, Paul (Donna) Knapp, Tom (Carol) Knapp, Jim (Betty) Knapp and George Knapp; two sisters, Harriet (Junior) McWhorter and Ruth (Roy) Bennett and ten grandchildren, Avery Miller, Creed Miller, Ryleigh Knapp, Austin Blagg, Ryleigh Blagg, Carsen Blagg, Shannon Frazee, Ryan Frazee, Nicole Frazee and Caitlyn Griffith.
Services for Lowell will be 11:00 am Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Powellsville with Norman Staker officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery with Military Graveside honors by James Dickey Post 23. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral in Wheelersburg and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
