A 27-year-old Lucasville man is facing some serious charges after the latest session of the Scioto County Grand Jury. Henry Clay is accused of shooting a McDermott man in the face two months ago.
The grand jury returned indictments against Clay for attempted murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of felonious assault, and one count of having weapons under a disability.
Back in May, deputies responded to a McDermott home after a woman called 9-1-1 to say Clay had shot her husband in the face and fled the scene.
While investigating the crime, officers learned of a truck crash on Pollock Road. When Ohio State Troopers responded, they discovered the truck matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle in the shooting.
Officers responded to the scene of the crash and discovered a weapon in the truck. A search of the area turned up the suspect, Henry Allan Clay, Jr., 27, of Lucasville. Medics transported him to SOMC for treatment.
Officers took him into custody, but he was sent on to Grant Hospital in Columbus. After his release from the hospital, he was booked into the Scioto County Jail on charges of felonious assault, having weapons under a disability, and DUI.
