A man who was acquitted of murder just last week is once again facing homicide charges—this time for a deadly car crash.
John Moore, 37, is now charged with vehicular homicide after police say he was driving impaired when he crossed the center line on State Route 220 and crashed head-on into a vehicle carrying Logan Warren, 25, of Waverly. Warren died at the scene.
Moore was taken to Adena Pike for treatment and later transferred to Grant Medical Center. Authorities charged him with vehicular homicide following the crash.
His latest charges come just days after a Scioto County jury found him not guilty in a high-profile murder case. Moore had been on trial for aggravated murder, murder, and felonious assault in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend’s father last year in South Webster. However, the jury accepted Moore’s claim of self-defense and acquitted him.
Now, fresh off his murder acquittal, Moore once again finds himself facing homicide charges—this time behind the wheel instead of a gun.
