Officers arrested a man for having control of a vehicle while under the influence after an early morning crash in the 2000 block of Waller Street. Witnesses said a white minivan crashed into a car. The crash also damaged a utility pole.
When officers attempted to detain Cameron Cosby at the scene, they say he resisted. Dispatch called in AEP to take care of the utility pole and sent for tow trucks for the vehicles.

Police impounded several items and took Cosby to the Scioto County Jail. However, the jail refused to accept Cosby until he’d been checked out at the hospital for possible injuries.
After the hospital cleared Cosby, officers booked him into the Scioto County Jail for having control of a vehicle while under the influence and resisting arrest.
Driver Hydroplanes into Power Pole
Around 11 pm, a woman driving a silver Ford hydroplaned into a utility pole on Thomas Avenue.
Officers shut down traffic on Thomas Avenue and waited for AEP to respond to the scene to take of the utility pole. They also arranged for a tow truck to take away the woman’s car.
Police cited the woman for failure to control.
