A man called 9-1-1 for help after an assault by his daughter’s ex-boyfriend. The man and his daughter were watching TV with the storm door open when they spotted a lit cigarette on the darkened porch.
The daughter’s former boyfriend came into the home and began to beat the father with the stick in the living room. When the daughter called 9-1-1, the assailant came after her, took the phone, and shoved her against the wall.
Officers noted abrasions on the father’s arms and hands and blood on the walls and furniture. Deputies searched the area for the suspect but could not locate him. The search continues.
Deputies also investigated a similar assault the next morning. A man said someone was beating on his front door at 5:30 am, and when he went to answer it, two people he knew began to beat on him. One of the suspects was a juvenile.
The officer caught up with the suspect, but they denied that he’d been involved in any assault. One of the suspects was listed as a missing child. Officers took both Alexander Jones and the juvenile into custody.
