Man Burns Kids’ Christmas Gifts After Wife Walks Out
A woman contacted officers just before midnight to report a tense domestic situation.
She said she’d just left her husband, and he had responded by burning their mattress and the children’s Christmas gifts.
She asked officers to make that man stop but then learned that the gifts hadn’t gone into the flames yet. She requested officers go with her to retrieve the gifts.
A deputy accompanied her to the home, and she collected the items without issue.
Dangerous House Causes Trouble on Linden Avenue
Officers got a call about someone inside a house so dangerous that they couldn’t even check inside.
It all started just after 10 am, when police got a call about a boarded-up condemned house on Linden Avenue.
She said she spotted someone climbing through a window. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed that the condemned structure still had electric service. However, they deemed the property too dangerous to go inside and check.
Code Enforcement said they would come to reboard up the house since the owner is in jail out of state.
Search For Missing Man With Medical Problems
Officers searched for a missing man with medical issues after the manager of his mobile home park got worried.
The manager told police he hadn’t seen or heard from the man in the last three days and was concerned due to the man’s medical issues.
Officers checked SOMC and King’s Daughters to see if he had been admitted and then entered the residence for a welfare check.
The man was not home, so officers resecured the home.
