Deputies took a man into custody after he led them on a motorcycle chase at 3 am. A deputy spotted a motorcycle with no plate and attempted to pull it over on Rarden Hazelbaker Road. The driver took off past Smith Road, then passed Jones Road and the 2-mile marker before finally turning onto Rt. 348 and pulling over.
While the bike was not on the stolen list, Jason Spires, its driver, was wanted on an open warrant.

Deputies took him into custody for probation violation, failure to comply, and criminal mischief and arranged to have the bike towed.
They booked Spires into the Scioto County Jail. Spires has been in court many times on charges including having weapons while on probation, failure to appear, drug possession. He also has previous arrests for failure to comply.
