Deputies responded to assist a man having a really bad day just after 11 am. When officers arrived on the scene, a man told them he’d caught his girlfriend talking with another guy on the Tinder dating app while they were lying in bed.
He said when he confronted her, she hit him in the face. He said he went downstairs, and she followed him and punched him multiple times. He also claimed she burned him with a marijuana cigarette. She then left the house to spend the night with another guy. That morning, she told him to leave the house. However, he didn’t have a ride. He said the girlfriend offered to take him, but he’d have to ride along in the car with her new boyfriend.
The woman told officers she asked the man to leave after he accused her of cheating. She said their initial argument was over who was occupying too much space in their bed. She claimed he threw her across the bed, then followed her into the bathroom and threatened to kill her.
Officers noted no marks on either party. Another individual who lived in the house said they heard the pair arguing but didn’t see a physical altercation.
Officers took both parties into custody and booked them into the Lawrence County Jail.
