What started as a routine test drive turned into a frightening encounter for one Wheelersburg woman, after a man in an older-model BMW allegedly followed her home—and then pulled a gun on her father-in-law.
Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene after the shaken woman reported that the man had trailed her vehicle all the way back to her residence. Once there, she said he got out and brandished a firearm, escalating a situation that could have easily turned deadly.
The woman told officers she knew the man and that he lives nearby, but she declined to press charges. She did, however, request that he be officially trespassed from the property.
🧠 What To Do If Someone Follows You or Threatens You:
Situations like this are terrifying—but how you respond can protect you and others. Here’s what to do:
- 🚘 Don’t go home if you think someone is following you. Drive to a public place, like a police station, gas station, or store.
- 📞 Call 911 immediately. Give a description of the vehicle and location.
- 👀 Never confront the person yourself—especially if weapons may be involved.
- 🛑 If they follow you onto private property, you can request a trespass order—as this woman did.
- 🧾 Even if you don’t want to press charges, ask for a police report. You may need it later.
🙏 Thank You to Scioto County Deputies
