Officers were forced to deploy a stun gun to subdue a man in the midst of a mental health crisis just before midnight.
That man’s brother called 9-1-1 to say he was talking out of his head and starting random fires in the yard. Officers knew the man had been violent before and known to be armed.
Deputies were forced to deploy a stun gun to subdue the man and then called for an ambulance to assist.
Porter Township EMS, EMT Ohio, and Portsmouth Ambulance are all unable to assist. However, the Porter Squad was able to complete their run at SOMC and come to check out the man around 2 am.
Officers booked him into the Scioto County Jail on his open warrant.
