Usually, when an officer knocks at the door and you find out that you’re not the guy they’re looking for, it’s good news. Sadly, for one Ironton man, things did not go so well.
A Lawrence County Deputy knocked at his door in search of another guy. However, the current resident told the officer the man hadn’t lived there for three years and now resided somewhere in West Virginia.
Unfortunately for the resident, the officer was clearly able to see his marijuana plant through the window. The officer advised him that he could not legally grow the plant.
The man admitted he knew that was the case and that he understood the officer could take the plant without a search warrant as it was in plain view. He handed the plant to the officer.
The deputy said he would take the plant to destroy but decided not to write the man a ticket.
