When officers pulled over a car in Wheelersburg, they weren’t expecting to catch a one-man court-dodging machine—but that’s exactly what they got.
While the female driver got slapped with a citation for a traffic violation, her passenger got a one-way ride to jail after cops discovered he had not one… not two… but FOUR open warrants for blowing off court dates.
👮♂️ Meet John Waddell — the Houdini of the local court system, until now.
Here’s what was waiting for him in the legal backlog:
⚖️ Two warrants from November for skipping court on two separate charges of driving under suspension from May 2024.
🐶 A March no-show for a failure to confine an animal charge earned him another warrant courtesy of Portsmouth Municipal Court.
💥 And don’t forget the hit/skip charge from September—he ghosted that court date too, triggering warrant #4.
Well, the great escape artist finally ran out of luck.
Waddell was hauled off to the Scioto County Jail, where he’s now awaiting his day in court—all of them.
⚖️ This time, the court’s not taking any chances. They’ve decided to keep him behind bars until then to make sure he actually shows up.
Memo to Mr. Waddell: Next time, bring a calendar—and maybe a dog leash. 🐕📅🚔
