Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies became entangled in a bizarre situation after a man claimed a woman menaced him with a blowtorch on Bennett School House Road just after 5:30 a.m. He said he had to flee his home on foot to get away from her.
The woman also left the area on foot, but officers were able to catch up with her. She claimed the man was using drugs, seeing things, and swinging a club at imaginary things. She also told officers that a friend of the man brought her in from Kentucky to help clean up the man’s camper.
The owner of the camper agreed that she’d been dropped off to help clean but claimed she was the one using drugs and had almost set the camper on fire by placing a curtain on the stove. Additionally, he claimed she was talking to herself and requested officers remove her.
Deputies advised her that she would have to leave the property and attempted to find a place for her to stay nearby without any luck. She gathered her belongings and started to leave, when the camper’s owner pointed out that the boots she was wearing didn’t belong to her. She took off the boots and left the area barefoot.
Officers attempted to catch up with her to make sure she had shelter from the weather and to call for a ride to come get her. However, they were unable to locate the woman.
