Man Shot at While Attempting to Retrieve Stolen Vehicle
A man went to Dutch Ridge Road to pick up a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Lawrence County. However, when he arrived on the scene, he said multiple men shot at him.
Deputies went with the vehicle’s owner back to the property to look for it.
Officers said the people at the residence made threats against law enforcement. A deputy dropped the vehicle owner off at the Dollar Store.
Man With a Knife Reported in Jefferson Township
Just before 9 pm, officers responded to a report of a man beating up his girlfriend in Jefferson Township.
A witness said the man had a knife, but he managed to take it away from him. He said the man was currently walking down Flatwood-Fallen Timber Road.
An officer caught up with the woman at the First Stop and took information for a report.
Deputies then checked several locations in the area but could not find the suspect.
Pregnant Woman Punched in The Stomach
Police responded to a domestic violence report on 9th Street just after 9 pm. A woman told police her sister hit her and punched her in the stomach. The woman also told police she was 13 weeks pregnant.
However, she refused to cooperate with the investigation and did not want to press assault charges against her sister. The woman told officers she planned to go to the hospital to get checked out.
