A 24-year-old Franklin Furnace man sits in the Scioto County Jail charged with murder after a Disterdick Lane shooting on Thursday.
A witness called 911 to report a shooting at 7:46 pm. The caller said he was robbed at gunpoint and had a pregnant woman with him. When officers and EMS arrived, they found Ronnie Rowe, 24, dead in an SUV full of bullet holes.
Officers called in Ohio BCI to assist in processing the crime scene. Deputies soon learned the name of a man who’d been in the car with Rowe. Witnesses claimed he fled the scene on foot.
Deputies caught up with Jacub Tyler Carver walking along US 52 in Franklin Furnace and took him into custody.
The Coroner’s Office took possession of Rowe’s body and sent it to Montgomery County for forensic examination.
Detectives questioned Carver and later charged him with murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault. The court set his bond at $100,000. He’s due in court on Monday.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Jodi Conkel at. 740-351-1091.
