A driver who slammed into a mailbox on St. Rt. 104 had an interesting excuse.
Just before 6 p.m., callers reported a vehicle weaving all over the road and said the driver had struck a mailbox.
Officers searched the area but didn’t have any luck until someone called in a tip saying they’d witnessed the accident and saw the driver pull into a home on Dry Run Road.
When officers spoke with the driver, he said he was attempting to urinate in a bottle while driving and that caused him to lose control and hit the mailbox.
Deputies told him he had 24 hours to contact the mailbox owner or to report the accident to OSP. If he failed to do so, officers warned he could be charged with fleeing the scene of an accident.
