Man Tasered After West Portsmouth Assault
Officers responded to West Portsmouth at 8 am after a woman said a man assaulted her with a glass vase. She told officers the man had mental health issues.
The suspect was uncooperative, and officers were forced to deploy a stun gun to take the man into custody. They called for an ambulance to check him out, and medics said he was uninjured.
Deputies called ahead to let the jail know the man was uncooperative and to get a restraint chair ready before transporting him to the Scioto County Jail.
Shoplifters Freak Out at Dollar General in Wheelersburg
Witnesses said two shoplifters flipped out when they were caught in the act at the Wheelersburg Dollar General.
Employees said the two women lost their cool at the self-check and began screaming at employees before fleeing the scene with a bag full of items.
The store said they had video of the incident and would turn it over to police.
Drunken Man Raises Ruckus at Local Businesses
Just after 9 am, officers responded to a report of a drunk man with an open beer beating on doors at the Pizza Pub on the Scioto Trail.
A citizen waved an officer down at the Super Quik, and police took the man into custody.
