Man Wins Lottery Twice In Same Day
A resident of Pueblo, Colorado won two different Powerball jackpots on the same day. The man was named by Colorado lottery officials as “Joe B”. and the following Friday Joe claimed his jackpots.
The first jackpot ticket was purchased at the local 7-11 and the other at Loaf and Jug, a popular convenience store in Pueblo. These stores are located about a mile apart in Pueblo and they both sold winning tickets on the same day.
Pueblo has a history of large Powerball winnings, with a $2 million ticket being sold on Wednesday’s Powerball drawing to a different resident. Lottery tickets worth $10,000 or more are processed at a drive-thru claims office in Colorado to comply with recent state guidelines regarding essential business.
Joe used the exact same numbers on both of his winning tickets, a set of numbers he said he has been using for almost 30 years. The numbers Joe used were 5-9-27-39-42. One was bought in the morning and the other in the evening.
This is the first time a double drawing has happened with the Powerball in Colorado, though people have won smaller amounts multiple times on the same day. People in other states such as Delaware and Virginia have won millions of dollars in multiple drawings similar to Joe.
When asked what Joe plans to do with the money, he is reported as saying “The boss has plans for it.”
