Marcella Marie Jordan, 94, of South Webster passed away April 10th, 2025, surrounded by family at her daughter’s home.
Marcella was born January 13th,1931, in South Webster, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret McGraw. She was a beloved sister of Lewis McGraw, Leonard McGraw, Elizabeth Shamhart, and Floyd McGraw, all of whom preceded her in death. Marcella spent her life dedicated to helping others, from educating at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, participating in Eastern Star activities, to building a home filled with happy and well-fed children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marcella had the opportunity to sponsor the Phommachanh family, who were absorbed into Marcella’s growing family. Kinda, Vatsana, Tonya, Lee, and Scotty Phommachanh rightly referred to Marcella as ‘Mom’ and ‘Grandma’, and have always kept in contact with her throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening, loved to cut grass and driving the tractor. Quilting was one of her favorite hobbies, yet spending time with family was her greatest love.
Marcella had four children, Diana Jordan, Virgil Ray Jordan (deceased), Edward Jordan, and Rhonda Koch. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shawna Jordan, Craig Jordan, Brad (Crystal) Jordan, Marcie (Matt) Finn, Ryan (Shelby) Wamsley, Kayla (Tom) Taulbee, and Andrea Koch, and eleven great grandchildren. She loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Marcella built a home filled with laughter, love, and excellent cooking. No one left her house hungry, but instead, stuffed with food made with love and a host of memories. Although she is gone, she left behind a legacy in her family that will not be forgotten. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to all those blessed to know her.
We are eternally grateful for the nurses and caregivers at SOMC Hospice Center. They provided unparalleled care and kindness in a trying time for our family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to SOMC’s Hospice Center.
