Marjorie K. Bloomfield, 96, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born June 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Ellis Keibler and Addie (Dixon) Ramey Bloomfield.
She was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and had brought many to the Lord. She was always available to take care of many children while their parents went to work. She loved to travel and enjoyed being Rita’s airplane buddy on those trips.
She lived her life with grace, humility, and unwavering devotion to God. She poured her heart into her family, her church, and everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom and faith.
Though our hearts ache, we rejoice knowing she’s now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Marjorie is survived by three daughters, Rita (Willard) Sexton of Portsmouth, Deborah Milstead of Knoxville, TN and Melissa (Melvin) Russell of Portsmouth; a son in-law Randall Schneider of Sciotoville, along with 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Herman Bloomfield, a daughter Victoria Schneider, two brothers, Robert and John Keibler along with a sister Nancy Neal.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Sunday, August 17, 2025, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville, with Pastors Robert Coffey and Daniel Neal officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 AM Sunday prior to the services.
