Marjorie Katherine Hancock, reaching her goal of 100 years of age, died peacefully on Thursday morning at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on August 1, 1924, in Buena Vista, Viriginia, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida Guiliams Fox and was a registered nurse.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Eldon Hancock, brothers, John, Henry and William Fox, sisters, Pauline Watts, Bernice Davis and Irene Paxton.
Marjorie graduated from Lewis Gale Hospital of Nursing and attended the University of Cincinnati, holding many positions in nursing and teaching.
She was an instructor in the Practical Nurse Program, retiring in 1982 from Scioto Memorial Hospital as the Infection Control supervisor.
Marj leaves behind nephews, Willliam (Debra) Fox, George (Donna)Paxton, Pete (Margie) Watts and Glenn (Janet) Fox, nieces Patricia Allshouse and Marnie Emerson, and a great-niece, Sandy Morgan.
Also, to touch upon being blessed to have good friends, David (Debra) Bihl and family, and Michele (Gary) Miller and family.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2nd, at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Virginia.
