Mary Helen Willis, 96, of Hillsboro, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Hillsboro Post Acute, Hillsboro, Ohio. She was born October 8, 1929 in Pike County, Ohio daughter of the late Ezra and Ethel Brown Woods. On May 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donn Lee Willis who preceded her in death on August 24, 2016. Surviving are a son, Larry (Cheryl) Willis of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; two daughters, Priscilla (Roger) Shoemaker of Hillsboro and Marilyn (Barry) Boone of Sabina, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Adam Willis of Akron, Ohio, Bradley (Karyn) Shoemaker of Jamestown, Ohio, Curtis (Karen) Shoemaker and Andrew (Ashley) Shoemaker of Leesburg, Ohio, Amy (Tyler) Schroeder of Woodville, Ohio and Derek (Krista) Boone of Fairborn, Ohio and Jim Willis of Ohio; 16 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her four brothers, David, Paul, Phillip and Donald Woods.
Mary worked at Waverly Hatchery as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning and cooking. Above all she loved her family.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery in Peebles, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
