Mary Lou Vokes, 78 of Portsmouth, died Thursday, March 20, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. She was born December 10, 1946 in Portsmouth to the late Marcum McCown and Elna Schackert Burchett.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Madonna Swal and Arlana Skaggs.
Mary Lou was retired from the Chillicothe VA Hospital.
Mary Lou is survived by a daughter, Yvette (Mark) Boggs, 2 sisters; Carolyn McCown and Kathy (Jimmy) McCullough, a grandson, Jeremy (Brianna) Pelfrey, 2 great grandchildren, Peyton and Eli along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Jimmy McCullough officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 11:00 AM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
