Sherriff Announces: Miller, Coleman, and Carter Retirement
On Saturday afternoon, the Scioto County Sherriff’s office released a public statement concerning the retirement of three members of the Administrative Staff.
Chief Deputy Todd D. Miller, officially retired on Friday, December 18th. That was the day prior to the announcement from the Sheriff. Joining Miller was Office Manager Karen Coleman who also had her last day prior to the announcement. However, the social media post said about both they “will be retiring” when (in fact) by the announcement on Saturday at 2:33 pm, they were already gone.
Captain James Carter will be retiring on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Since his badge, credentials, and service weapon are already framed, it’s safe to assume Captain Carter is riding out some unused vacation days.
According to the announcement, these 3 members of the Administrative Staff have a combined “83 years in law enforcement”.
Due to COVID related issues with gatherings, there will be no parties. So, the Sheriff encouraged the public to send them cards or say something nice on their social media page.
Outgoing Sheriff, Marty Donini concluded by saying “I am truly appreciative to these employees whom I consider as friends and wish them the best in life!”
