Portsmouth police spent part of the day investigating a series of low-level complaints that ranged from a missing parking sign to a shirtless mystery man caught on camera and a woman accused of turning an alley into a trash dump.
🚫 NO PARKING SIGN VANISHES
Officers first responded to the Scioto Trail after a property owner discovered his “No Parking” sign had been damaged and removed.
According to the report, whoever took the sign apparently tried to hide it in a nearby sewer drain but discovered it wouldn’t fit.
The owner requested documentation of the incident but declined to pursue a formal report.
Police said there were no suspects and no surveillance footage available.
🎥 SHIRTLESS MAN SHOWS UP ON CAMERA
Meanwhile, a homeowner who was out of town contacted police after spotting a suspicious man on their Ring camera.
The caller reported that a shirtless man wearing pink shorts had appeared on camera around 1 a.m. and then returned later in the day.
Officers checked the property and found no signs of forced entry or attempted break-in.
Neighbors told police they saw the man walk through the yard before heading north.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate him.
🗑️ ALLEYWAY LITTER COMPLAINT
A third caller contacted police after spotting a woman with a flashlight through their security camera.
The caller reported the woman appeared to be throwing trash around a yard and alley before lying down in the alleyway.
When officers arrived, they found the woman and determined she was not impaired.
Police instructed her to pick up the trash she had scattered and move along.
No charges were filed.
🚔 NO ARRESTS, JUST ODD CALLS
Despite the unusual nature of the complaints, none of the incidents resulted in arrests.
Instead, officers documented a missing sign, checked on a shirtless wanderer, and convinced an alleyway litterbug to clean up her mess before heading down the road.
Just another day on the Portsmouth police blotter.
