Officers were called in for multiple incidents involving homeless individuals. At 11:28 am, a caller requested a welfare check on a mom and child living in a tent in a homeless camp near the river. Officers checked in with the pair and said they seemed okay.
An upset Wheelersburg man called officers at 10:15 pm to report two people had moved into a shed on his property and set up housekeeping. He told officers he wanted them gone.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they noted there was no forced entry to the shed, so they detained the shed’s new residents until the owner could arrive and decide if he wanted to press charges.
One of the men told deputies he’d been living in the shed for a few days. When the shed’s owner arrived, he told officers he just wanted the man gone and for him to stay off his property. The squatters collected their things and walked away from the shed.
