A man called 911 at 6:38 pm to report discovering numerous stolen vehicles on Dry Run Mount Hope Road. The caller said the multiple people had just taken off and run into the woods.
When deputies responded to the scene, they found multiple vehicles. After checking out the VIN numbers, they contacted Highland County to confirm that a vehicle was stolen.

They also contacted the original caller and returned their vehicle to them. Officers discovered another vehicle that had been reported stolen from Pike County.
Officers from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded to pick that vehicle up. An officer and a tow truck driver got stuck in the mud during the recovery operation.
