Naked Man in Ankle Monitor Dances at Super 8
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Super 8 on US 23 for a report of a half-naked man with an ankle monitor dancing at the motel.
The staff ran him off, but he soon returned. Officers responded to the scene to talk to the fellow, but the staff definitely did not want him to check back into the hotel.
Instead, deputies transported the man to the Four Keys Inn in Portsmouth.
Man Busted For Drugs After Trying To Hide From Cops
Just after 11:30 am, Portsmouth officers responded to a report of two men going in and out of a vacant house on Argonne Road.
An officer spotted a man matching the description, but the man attempted to hide. Police searched for him on foot and located him hiding in some weeds.
Officers took him into custody for drug possession. He was immediately released on his own recognizance.
Drug Smoker Busted at Mt. Joy Church
A man attempting to get high at Mt. Joy Church on St. Rte 772 was stopped by deputies just after 2 am.
The suspect was in a car at the church getting ready to partake in some illicit drug smoking when deputies caught him.
They impounded the drugs and destroyed it before he had a chance to light up. Since was not impaired, they let him go.
Man Tracks Down Stolen Dog
A worried dog owner contacted Portsmouth Police to report that he’d tracked down his stolen dog at a Vinton Avenue home. However, he said the people there would not return the dog.
When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke to a juvenile who informed them the dog had appeared at the home two years previously. The boy then admitted he lied and said the dog arrived a day ago, which was exactly when the dog disappeared from its owners’ yard.
The owner had pictures and other proof that the dog belonged to him. The animal was returned home.
