Nancy J. Brown, 83, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday April 18, 2023. She was born May 5, 1939, a daughter of the late James and Myrtle (Holbrook) Murphy.
She was a member of Berean Baptist Church , a graduate of Prichard High School, enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for making cakes and decorating them.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Herbert Brown; two sons, Jeff Brown and wife Kim of Oak Hill, Dave Brown and wife Sue Ann of Otway; 8 grandchildren, Alicia, Courtney, Kole, Kyle, Tyler, Kaleb, Brittany and Brandon; 4 great-grandchildren, Blaine, Ethan, Claya and Charlotte. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 22, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with Pastor Steve Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Friday and 12 Noon to 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
