Ohio State Troopers cited a New Boston Police Officer after they found her slumped over the wheel of her vehicle in a West Portsmouth Driveway.
Officers were responding to a report of a reckless driver who was drinking behind the wheel and weaving in and out of traffic. The woman even drove through a nearby yard.
When officers caught up with Lindi Anderson, bodycam video shows she was slumped over at the wheel and didn’t wake up until an officer pounded on the window.
Anderson immediately woke up and greeted the officer. She denied being slumped over the wheel or diving erratically and claimed that the only thing she’d been drinking was a soft drink.
Officers put Anderson through a series of sobriety tests and then gave her the option of going with a trooper for a breathalyzer or blood alcohol test or accepting a citation for OVI.
Anderson said she would just take the citation.

Officers did not arrest Anderson at the scene. This is standard procedure when there’s been no accident, the driver is a first-time offender, and the driver is already home.
This incident took place back on May 26, and on June 6, her attorney filed a request for a jury trial in Portsmouth Municipal Court. The pre-trial hearing is set for July 1.
Anderson is not the only area officer to be busted for DUI recently. SCDN is currently investigating another case where an officer is accused of being under the influence. Only this time, there was a serious accident involved. We’ll have more on that story soon.
