Nicholas Cort Fisher, 28, of Waverly, Ohio passed away tragically in an auto accident on his way to his happy place the AMA Supercross Championship: Daytona, Florida. He was born March 5, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio to Cort and Shelly Smith Fisher of Waverly.
On October 26, 2024 he married his high school sweetheart Michelle Holbert Fisher. Also surviving are his children, Elena Charlene Fisher (7), Makayla Rose Fisher (5) and Eli Cort Fisher (due in August); a sister, Bethany (Dustin) Montgomery of Chillicothe; nephew and nieces, Rheagan Montgomery, Rhys Montgomery, Adaline Montgomery and Emery May Slone; a grandmother, Lana Fisher of Wheelersburg; a grandfather, Tony Hatzipavlis of Columbus; a special aunt, Missy Heistad; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Don Smith, Sr. and Michael Fisher; grandmother, Nancy Hatzipavlis; and a brother-in-law, Kyle Slone.
Nic was owner and CEO of DirtWRX Unlimited. He worked as a project manager for Waste Management at Kenworth. He was a faithful Christian and his family knows he is with the Lord.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March, 7, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Karen Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union on Denver Rd. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.
The family asks that casual attire be worn representing the moto community.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nicholas C. Fisher Memorial account, at the Atomic Credit Union, 190 Waverly Plaza, Waverly, Ohio, for his children’s futures.
