A resident of a local nursing home turned to the police when she said the medical professionals in the facility ignored her.
Just after 6 am, a woman called PPD, asking for an officer to come to her room. She said she had an infection in her leg and that no one responded when she hit the call button in her room. Further, she said that when she walked down to the nurses’ station, no one would help her.
An officer spoke to nurses at the facility. They said they had notified the woman’s physician, and she had been given antibiotics by her doctor. The officer relayed that information to the woman suffering from the leg infection.
Another disturbing report from a different nursing home came in at 6:30 am. A male patient wanted to report a case of sexual abuse. Officers took information for a report.
