A resident of a local nursing home contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at noon to report that a staff member was intercepting her mail and cashing her checks.
The office manager at the nursing home explained that the office takes her check and puts it into her account to pay her bills at the facility and passes $50 a month in spending money on to the woman.
The resident thought she should receive the check and then pay the nursing home. She was informed that was not the way things were set up with the facility.
