Portsmouth Police Officers responded to an area funeral home after fears that there could be issues among the mourners after the service.
Witnesses reported there was tension between family members and wanted police to stand by to make sure nothing happened. PPD officers headed to service but reported there were no further issues.
However, Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies stood by at the cemetery after PPD advised them that verbal arguments had broken out among the mourners. The funeral director also contacted deputies to say that things were getting tense and asked them to stand by.
