Portsmouth Police Officers are often called on to make welfare checks when family members can’t get in touch with loved ones. A few days ago, two welfare checks ended with sad discoveries of deceased loved ones. Fortunately, a call they made just before 2 pm, had a happier ending.
A man called 9-1-1 because he’d been unable to reach his dad on the phone. Police headed to Kenroe Street home to do a welfare check and discovered the man on the floor.
Officers helped him up and said he seemed coherent. However, he refused medical treatment. Officers contacted family members and they headed to the home to help out dad.
