Officers responded to three calls in three hours at the Royal Inn on Kendall Avenue. At 2:50 pm, a caller asked police to do a welfare check of three little girls staying at the motel with their mother and their boyfriend. She said she was a guest at the motel, and the children appeared to be in poor condition.
Police said the children seemed fine to them and the mother believed the call was due to issues with another guest.
Just after 3 pm, they were called back to the hotel for an incident involving a woman who was upset over owing money to another woman. She said the woman had showed up at her job at Arby’s and harassed her and made vague threats. Police took information for a report.
At 4:45 pm, officers received a report of an overdose in front of the hotel. Callers said a woman had wandered down from the Woodbine Apartments asking for Narcan.
