An adult with a drug problem caused an upsetting situation for a child.
Just after 4 pm, dispatch took an emergency call about a man overdosing in a Robinson Avenue apartment. Dispatch could hear a child screaming in the background, seemingly frightened by the chaos, and asked officers to do a welfare check.
When officers arrived on the scene, a woman had already taken the overdosing man out of the apartment. Police noted the child was in the care of two sober adults and seemed fine.
EMS also responded to a report of an overdose on Oakland Avenue just after 7 pm, but the woman was alert by the time help arrived on the scene.
A few hours later, a caller reported an overdose at a Robinson Avenue apartment just a few doors down from the first call we reported. Once again, the victim was alert by the time help arrived and refused medical treatment.
Officers and EMS responded to Summit Street after reports that a 65-year-old man had overdosed. By the time help arrived, the man was alert. Officers left him in the care of a friend.
