He was out cold. Then suddenly up and trying to flee. Here’s what really happened inside that hotel room—and what you need to know if it happens to someone you love.
Just after 5 p.m., emergency crews were called to the Quality Inn after a man was found unresponsive and not breathing. For a moment, it looked like it was too late — but the quick-thinking caller managed to revive him before help arrived.
💨 As the man came to, he tried to head downstairs and leave the hotel, confused and disoriented. Luckily, EMS arrived just in time and convinced him to go with them for treatment.
His companion told officers that the man has a known history of drug use and feared this was yet another relapse.
⚠️ What To Do If You Suspect an Overdose:
- 🚨 Call 911 immediately. Don’t wait. Minutes matter.
- 💉 Use Narcan if available. If you have it and know how to use it, administer it right away — it’s legal and can save a life.
- ❤️ Keep them breathing. If they’re unconscious but breathing, lay them on their side (recovery position). If they’re not breathing, start CPR if trained.
- 🧍♂️ Stay with them. People may be confused or scared when revived — talk calmly and assure them help is coming.
- 🗣️ Tell EMS the truth. Don’t hide drug use. Medical crews aren’t there to judge — they need accurate info to save lives.
🚫 Don’t Ignore the Signs:
- Unresponsiveness
- Slow or stopped breathing
- Blue lips or fingernails
- Gurgling sounds or limp body
Whether it’s a hotel room, your home, or on the street — you could be the difference between life and death. Overdoses don’t wait. Neither should you.
